About the event

Join us on a walk around the Warminster skyline, taking in the Iron Age hillforts of Battlesbury and Scratchbury Camp. This circular route of around 6 miles, takes us along the edge of Salisbury Plain with sweeping views across Warminster and the valleys beyond.

This walk will be led by Glyn Coy from Hidden Wiltshire, who will describe the history of the landscape as we walk through it. From the Neolithic, through to the Bronze Age and Iron Age, this area is packed full of ancient history which is still visible to us today.

Please wear walking shoes or boots as the terrain is mostly off road. The walk may be postponed or cancelled in the event of extreme weather. Bring a packed lunch and drinking water. The walk is around 6 miles but we will be going at a leisurely pace. Minimum participants (excluding leader(s) 5. Maximum 10. If the walk is sold out keep an eye out for other events to book yourself on to.

Please meet on the tank road just off Battlesbury Road. Google map link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/FEAX57fQbPXSc4gk7
